Development and Capital Campaign Director

A great big thank you to the M.J.Murdock Charitable Trust for the recent grant award of $300,000 to Camp Lutherwood Oregon towards the building of the Retreat Lodge. It gets closer every day.

Tom Brewer, Lutherwood’s Site Manager, and Development and Capital Campaign Director Andrea Scofield meet weekly with the architects and others to complete the final details and design of the Lodge. The permitting process could take several months to complete. The goal is to have groundbreaking by the Fall of 2025 and completion by the Fall of 2026.

Fundraising for the Lodge is still underway. We need to raise $1.5 million dollars by the Fall of 2025 and we invite everyone to participate. Central Lutheran Church, Eugene has held the first congregational campaign this past fall and there are other churches scheduled for spring of 2025. Our congregational overall goal (with many churches participating) is $300,000. All churches are welcome to participate. We provide the materials for you and walk with you for the three- to four-week campaign.

The Lodge is the much-needed housing for adults, families, staff, and other guests. We are designing the building for accessibility, comfort, and group gathering. This is the last of the buildings in the Bridge to the Future campaign which has been impacted by a fire, a pandemic, and time loss. BUT… we are ready to get this project completed and to celebrate this fantastic accomplishment.

Please plan to participate in this endeavor. Gifts can be given over a period of time and in a variety of ways. Be sure your church is involved and that you are too. Contact Andrea Scofield for more information and for a visit to discuss ways you can build the retreat Lodge at Camp Lutherwood Oregon: andrea@lutherwoodoregon.org.
