Executive Director – Andrea Scofield
Andrea Scofield, Executive Director of Camp Lutherwood Oregon, builds and creates opportunities for staff, guests, volunteers, and donors to interact with the ministry of Camp Lutherwood. Her leadership has created a sustainable program and organization that continues to provide an outdoor experience to all guests. Andrea’s vision for Lutherwood is to expand the capacity and potential of Lutherwood and deepen the relationship with churches and the community.
Director of Resource Development – Caitlin Elwood
Caitlin Elwood, Director of Resource Development, joined the team in August of 2013 after Lutherwood received a generous grant from The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. Her goals continue to be strengthening Camp Lutherwood Oregon’s annual fund by increasing donor participation while working closely with those who already have relationships with Lutherwood. She believes Lutherwood is a place of discovery, transformation and fun!
Director of Facilities and Operations –Gordon Okumu
The newest member of the team, Gordon Okumu, joined in September of 2017 after Lutherwood received another grant from the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust. Gordon is originally from Nairobi, Kenya and was serving as a Jesuit Missionary before coming to the US. He is excited to begin in this position, and looks forward to linking the mission and vision of Lutherwood through communication, work and fun!
Program Director- Charlotte Trent
Charlotte Trent, Program Director, has been working with Camp Lutherwood since 2012 and is excited to join Lutherwood’s year round team. She is a recent grad of California Lutheran University, where she studied Theology and Christian Leadership with a focus on Youth and Family Ministry. She is a firm believer in the transformative power of camp and hopes to continue to build up the best of Lutherwood’s programs while also incorporating new opportunities for fun and discovery for campers and their families!
Guest Services Host –Brandie Mehlhorn
Brandie begin working at Camp Lutherwood as a counselor in the summer of 2015, and has been working at camp in some capacity since! Brandie is working on managing rental groups, hosting and supporting the other year round staff. Her favorite part of camp is seeing all the campers and rental groups that come and go from this wonderful place! She hopes to help camp grow this rental season and bring the best experience possible for all who walk across the bridge.
Congregational Outreach & Program Renewal– Rev. Sara Gross Samuelson
Rev. Sara Gross Samuelson is called 2/3 time as Associate Pastor for Faith Formation at West Linn Lutheran Church and is grateful to be able to spend the rest of her time working with Lutherwood. Sara served Lutherwood as Director of Day Camp Ministries, leaving in 2012 to finish seminary. Sara is looking forward to connecting with congregations and doing some deep listening to the ministry challenges and joys we all face in the 21st century and visioning new ways to be about the work of faith formation, outdoor ministry, and relationship together!
Financial Administrator – Cindy Culpepper
Cindy Culpepper, Financial Advisor, started working at camp in 2008. She enjoys working with the year-round team, and handling camp’s finances.
